Ngā Manu Tāiko o te Ora – A Platform for Leadership, Connection and Growth

Te Rau Ora, through Whare Tukutuku, have launched Ngā Manu Tāiko o te Ora, a newly established alumni platform to foster connection, grow leadership and strengthen the collective hauora of kaimahi.

Translating to Guardians of WellbeingNgā Manu Tāiko o te Ora celebrates those who have received Te Rau Ora scholarships and who continue to contribute to the wellbeing of their communities across Aotearoa.

For over 20 years, Te Rau Ora has had the privilege of supporting whānau nationally into health-related study through the Hoe Tahi, Hoe Rua, and Māori Health Leadership scholarships.

Ngā Manu Tāiko o te Ora marks a new chapter – a space where scholarship alumni can connect, celebrate shared journeys, and strengthen the collective impact of their mahi. Through whakawhanaungatanga and tuakana-teina relationships, the platform aspires to nurture leadership to support the continued growth and development of kaimahi, for the benefit of the communities they work in.

“We know that leadership is grown in communities. Ngā Manu Tāiko o te Ora brings together those who have walked this scholarship journey, who continue to nurture and uplift the collective wellbeing of the Māori AOD and broader health workforce, and their whānau. This is a space to connect, reflect, and rise together,” says Whare Tukutuku Kaiwhakahaere Tracey Potiki.
