About the Training

He Puna Whakaata is a kaupapa Māori based programme that helps to identify someone’s values, their origins and to dive that little bit deeper into their values.

Participants will be taught how to use a range of tools within their practice, including:

  • Whai Tikanga cards
  • Korurangi
  • Te Whare Tapa Whā and
  • an updated Pleasant Event Schedule.

This is an interactive workshop in which participants are taught to use the tools by first using them on themselves. Participants experience what it is like to use the whai tikanga cards as a practitioner and as a client. Learning this way is a chance for clinicians to reflect on their own values. Regardless of a person’s level of understanding of Te Ao Māori (Māori worldview), they are able to bring knowledge to a conversation about the cards and what the different values mean to them.

By completing the training, you will receive your own set of Whai Tikanga cards and associated resources. This is the only way to receive access to these resources, and we do so to maintain the quality, authenticity, and integrity of the resources and programme as a whole.

This is a one-off delivery for He Puna Whakaata opened to NGO and Community Organisations.
