Te Waharoa is a TairÄwhiti initiative that brings a Single Point of Access for Mental Health and addiction into the community.
We provide:
Mental Health Consumer Advocacy and Peer Support
Alcohol and Other Drug Advocacy and Peer Support
Child, Adolescent, and Youth Peer Support
Whānau and Family Support, Education, Information and Advocacy
Whakamana Te Tangata
This is a programme to counter the stigma and discrimination associated with mental illness and addictions.
Tautoko ana Te Whānau: Supporting the Family
A safe forum specifically for Whānau to share information and experiences, seek advice, support, and advocacy
Te Waharoa is a key access point for those in distress and needing guidance to access the right support.
Te Kupenga Net Trust leads the contract for Te Waharoa and is a Consumer-led Advocacy and Peer Support Agency, and are in partnership with Hauora TairÄwhiti to ensure that we collectively provide this service to our Whānau in distress.
This initiative uses FEEDBACK INFORMED TREATMENT. This is an international data collection programme that captures the view of Whānau and the Mataora who work together in Te Waharoa. This data helps to inform us whether the way in which we are working is effective for Whānau.
