Māori Provider Description
We have been delivering independent, quality health care to Napier since 1994. We are a provider of the Te Haa Matea – Hawke’s Bay Stop Smoking Service and also provide Suicide Prevention support
This is a cessation service for those that wish to quit smoking. This is provided through individual and group support by two AKP workers.
Because Tobacco is a dominant killer for Māori, this service and a Smoke-free kaupapa is a priority for Te Kupenga Hauora – Ahuriri.
This programme promotes community action and coordination across all sectors in order to create a positive impact on the health and well-being of taitamariki Māori by raising the awareness of suicide prevention.
