Te Tuakiri o Te Tangata | Exploring aspects of Identity

Facilitated by Kirimātao Paipa (Ngāti Porou, Te Arawa, Ngāti Raukawa ki Tonga) and Maira Pihema (Ngarauru, Ngāti Raukawa ki Te Tonga, Ngapuhi)

This training is about developing an in-depth understanding and knowledge of tikanga within the area of hauora Māori, founded on a Māori worldview. It utilises the approach to understanding aspects of identity as espoused by the late Dr Kāterina Te Heikōkō Mataira, and re-imaged to apply to a hauora context.

Participants in this two day face to face training, can expect to develop an understanding of the relationship between language, culture and identity, and the impact it has on mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.
