The Rangatahi Development Fund is a one-off grant that builds capacity and capability for rangatahi Maori to lead and influence the design, development, and delivery of rangatahi services. It offers two distinct streams. Choose the one that fits your kaupapa.
Organisation Development Grant
$10,000$200,000 pool
Supports hauora Maori partners and community based organisations to run development projects that enable rangatahi to lead or influence the design, development, or delivery of services.
- Be a community hauora Maori partner delivering services to rangatahi Maori
- Complete the online application form
Assessed on capacity and capability (45%) and alignment to the kaupapa (30%).

Rangatahi-led Innovation Grant
Up to $25,000$425,000 pool
Supports by rangatahi, for rangatahi initiatives that positively improve oranga rangatahi and mental wellbeing.
- Be a rangatahi-led project submitted by a legal entity
- Hold a registered bank account in the group name, or be a registered legal entity or charity
- Submit a 3 to 5 minute video with your application
Assessed on capacity and capability (45%), alignment to the kaupapa (30%), and your video (25%).

Rangatahi Ora team
Who reviews your application
A strong rangatahi Advisory Board and Fund Panel review every application. This is a for rangatahi, by rangatahi kaupapa, so the people deciding understand exactly what you are working towards. Applications are assessed by an external panel drawn from the Mauri Tahi Rangatahi Ora National Advisory Group, with recommendations going to the Rangatahi Ora team for final approval.

We want to hear your ideas, especially the ones that look a little different. In the past this fund has backed everything from DJ-ing to lawn mowing to surfing, when those kaupapa were clearly linked to improving oranga rangatahi and wellbeing. If your idea lifts the wellbeing of rangatahi, it belongs here.
