Rangatahi Change Maker

“Ka Pu te Ruha – Ka Hao te Rangatahi”

When the old net is cast aside, the new net goes fishing. This proverbial saying refers to the younger generation taking up the reigns left by their elders.

Rangatahi Change Maker

Rangatahi Change Makers is a course developed by Rangatahi to help Rangatahi be the leaders they naturally are and to assist them with acquiring basic knowledge and skills so they can continue to have the courage to redefine Rangatahi Māori suicide prevention through Rangatahi creative thinking and action.

Te Rau Ora has built a diverse network of Rangatahi Māori nationally who are interested in building their own capacity to lead out strategies to prevent suicide and build resilience in their peer communities.

Rangatahi Māori request strategies and knowledge in the field of suicide prevention to ensure their messages and kōrero do no harm to others and appreciate the strengths Rangatahi possess in getting through the tough times.
