Update from Murihiku Region

Greetings from the deep south.

Our rōpū have been working hard this past month with strengthening the relationships within our steering rōpū and building relationships with whānau within the wider community. As we look forward to the relegation of the recent rāhui restrictions to alert level two and a time of re-entering the world.

Our current focus is sharing ideas to apply for the Like Minds Like Mine Community grant for the up and coming funding round. Our rōpū have some great concepts that have been described as thought provoking. Our rōpū also believe that anything in the media that inspires discussion towards how we operate as a society and the impacts of our actions within our whānau, hapu, iwi and all other connections in our world are valuable and worth talking about.

Here’s hoping we can pull together a project that challenges all of us to stand and create attitudes of fairness, develop people that skilfully champion equity and lives worthy of celebrating their own wellness journeys and empowering others to find hope in theirs. As a rōpū here in Murihiku we hope you all enjoy your extended freedom and we look forward to the up and coming month.

Ngā mihi nui,
