Tū Whānau Mai and Hei Āpōpō are two te Reo resources produced by Te Rau Ora and the National Centre Māori Suicide Prevention: Te Au, to support Māori in suicide prevention. The two booklets are an adaptation of the English versions Te Rau Ora created as part of a suite of resources for Māori. We believe te reo Māori provides for a more spiritual aspect to the way we prefer to express what we mean and in our messages.

Te Reo Resources for Suicide Prevention in Kura
Tū Whānau Mai and Hei Āpōpō are resources that Kura have utilised, for example in Reo Rua (bilingual), Rūmaki (immersion), Kura Kaupapa Māori and Wharekura. It has been important to students and Kaiako to have access to resources that are pro Te Reo Māori.
Outcomes from Kura have shared students who speak te Reo access another level of consciousness in terms of her/his wellbeing and identity as a person. The resources help the student to reassure she/he will be ok and that there are strategies to cope within the context of Te Ao Māori.
