Indigenous people have some of the highest rates of suicide, but many iwi (tribes) around the world are working to address this important health issue.

Nearly two years ago, Te Rau Ora (previously Te Rau Matatini) released their first Indigenous Suicide Prevention special issue of the Journal of Indigenous Wellbeing: Te Mauri-Pimatiswin.  This year the Journal of Indigenous Wellbeing has opened submissions for another Suicide Prevention special issue.

There are Indigenous communities around the world hungry to hear about innovative Indigenous approaches to suicide prevention and other work that contributes to this kaupapa (topic).  We look forward to keeping you updated when the Journal is ready.
