In July, we held our 1st face to face regional hui post-rāhui. Our rōpū themed the hui “Who do you contact for support when you don’t have trust in the support services?” This is such a huge topic close to my heart, due to my own lived experience when utilising ‘support services.’
Our rōpū held this hui at a different venue, which was found by Miss Georgia Butler (Kairuruku, Te Kete Pounamu). So, thank you for that. Thanks to Cody and her daughter for supporting our hui with their presence also.
Though our hui did not have any new whānau Māori attend, the conversation was robust and full of value. We talked about seeking support from friends and whānau. Our rōpū feel like this topic is one of importance that needs to be discussed more widely among communities, at both a regional and national level.
Overall, a good hui in our eyes.
We wish all whānau the best with their upcoming hui.
