SUMMARY:Ki Te Ara Whakamua: Māori Community Action Fund
DESCRIPTION:The Māori Community Action Fund is a one-off contestable fund established to support Māori-led solution to reduce Alcohol and Drug Harm. \nThe overall vision for the fund is Kia tika te wā; kia tika te wāhi\, kia tika te tangata; kia ora te whānau – that whānau will thrive and flourish\, with the right people\, in the right place\, at the right time. \nA key pressure on the health system is that over 50 percent of New Zealanders will experience mental distress and addiction challenges at some point in their lives.   These challenges can not only affect an individual’s ability to care for themselves but can also cause considerable concern for their whānau and loved one. \nMāori communities have demonstrated that when given the opportunity and resources to develop their own solutions\, they can mobilise quickly\, reach deep into their communities\, and achieve results that matter.  Their solutions help to reduce the risk and burden of disease while helping to achieve better and more equitable health and wellbeing outcomes for all New Zealanders. \nFor more information or to apply: https://wharetukutuku.com/aod-fund/

SUMMARY:Tāne Tika Tonu
DESCRIPTION:The recent impacts of Cyclone Gabrielle have left a lasting effect\, not only physically on our homes and communities\, but also emotionally and mentally on our people.   \nWe understand that many men in our community are facing challenges in the recovery and rebuilding process\, along with the rising costs of living.  Many may not say anything and carry on as we all do\, however we can see the pressures have taken a toll on the wellbeing of Tāne\, leading to stressful situations\, including the loss of lives through suicide. It is important that we come together as a community to tautoko and whakamana each other as Tāne.    \nJoin us in Hastings at Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga for a nurturing breakfast dedicated to supporting our tāne. Organised by Te Taitimu Trust and in collaboration with Te Rau Ora\, this gathering aims to uplift and empower the tāne in our community.  \nWhakapiripiri mai tātou kia whakakaha I a tātou anō!  \nLet’s join together to strengthen and uplift one another!  \nFor more information contact alex.milner@terauora.com
