Mangakino Orangatanga

Māori Provider Description

Mangakino Orangatanga is a forum working collaboratively as Māori of the Mangakino community to improve the health and wellbeing of our Whānau.

Our forum identifies and addresses Māori health issues, through a holistic approach based on Te Whare Tapa Wha.

We work closely alongside Te Arawa Whānau Ora ki Mangakino, Mangakino Health Services and PokapÅ« ō te Taiwhenua.

Some of our mahi includes:

Level 1 Provider of PokapÅ« o te Taiwhenua – working to close the digital/technology gap with Whānau and improve access. This includes supporting Whānau with the technology and confidence to engage comfortably with video telehealth, in their home or community

Te Whare Rengarenga – a Wellbeing Programme that provides support around vaping, physical fitness and nutrition (in partnership with Mangakino Health Services)

Tautoko/support for Kaumātua: including delivering healthy cooked meals to Kaumātua in our community and supporting Kaumātua to connect and be at the local marae.

Transport: Supporting Kaumātua and Whānau with transport options to services and health appointments

Tautoko/support around COVID-19: Supporting our Whānau through COVID-19, including information, caring, advocacy and digital aspects e.g. accessing vaccine passports
